Omaha Steaks is a family business based in Omaha, Nebraska, that manufactures, markets, packages, and distributes premium beef, seafood and other foods. It was founded in 1917 by Latvian emigrants J.J. and B.A. Simon as the Table Supply Meat Company, taking the name from the previous occupants of the building, the Table Supply Company. It has used the name Omaha Steaks in marketing since 1966.[citation needed]

The company offers a line of beef, pork, poultry, seafood, side dishes, appetizers and desserts. Omaha Steaks are shipped directly to customers nationwide packed in insulated coolers chilled with dry ice.

The company uses a variety of marketing techniques, including mail order, telesales, telemarketing, retail sales, and Internet based sales.
