[edit] Athletics

Although the school's sports teams have captured a number of state titles, Olympic Heights is perhaps best known for the girls volleyball team's unprecedented run of success, as the team won a state record seven straight state titles from 1996-2002 under Coach Ginny Kelly. Those seven straight titles remain a Florida state record.

Olympic Heights football achieved remarkable success early in the school's history, going 10-0 in its second year of existence (1992) and 10-0 in its 3rd season (1993). Ultimately, Olympic Heights tied a Florida state record of 27 straight regular season victories from 1992-1994.

The Varsity Cheerleading team received many competition victories, including an NCA National Title during the 2002-2003 season.

The Olympic Heights Hip Hop Dance team was started by two students; Dara Smith & Rachel Bentley in 2002. The dance team was awarded 1st place and an elite gold medal in the 2004 starpower dance competition and has had continued success at competitions ever since.

[edit] Band

The Olympic Heights Mighty Lions Band is one of the school's greatest success. It won the Florida Marching Band Championship in 2004 and 2005, and it ended in second place in 2006. It has, however, been successful since 1993. In the 2007 season the marching band has gone on to win straight superiors and 1st place at all competitions they attended and went on to FMBS finals to win 2nd in their class in the whole state. The band program at the school offers Marching, Concert, and Jazz Band. The Band is supported by the community and by Band Boosters, which are parents who dedicate time and effort to make this program the best it can be.
