[edit] Flag icons in infobox
Regarding your edits to infoboxes: please do not replace the names of countries with the respective flags, as this is out of compliance with Wikipedia:WikiProject Songs, and among other things, the reader won't learn as quickly what country the flag is representing, particularly if they don't know what country it does represent. For more information, read Wikipedia:Don't overuse flags. Thanks. Lillygirl (talk) 13:32, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
You don't want to say you don't know the German flag. By the way: It is shown to you if you put the mouse over it. And in this case the flag was used only one time. And when you remove a flag you should add the Countries name. Well, now I added both, flag and name. Oli W 93 16:04(CET); April 27, 2008
- See Wikipedia:WikiProject Songs - it is the guidline which we as users have to follow to edit, it states nothing about using flags, just putting the countries name next to it, so there is no point really in adding the flag. Adding the flag also violates Wikipedias fair use image policy (e.g. like added single or album covers to the artist chronology in the infobox). Wikipedia:Manual of Style (flags)#Not for use in general article prose state that "If the use of flags in a list, table or infobox makes it unclear, ambiguous or controversial, it is better to remove the flags." I don't think you are right, but I also don't want to have an endless discussion, so I will leave out the flag first. Oli W 93 22:05(CET); April 27, 2008
