Olivers Hill, Victoria

Olivers Hill is a locality in the City of Frankston, Victoria, Australia. It straddles the suburbs of Frankston and Frankston South.
A well known landmark, Olivers Hill boasts the highest ground on the beach in bayside metropolitan Melbourne, and as such its commanding views of Port Phillip Bay determine its very high real estate prices. Known locally as "The Hill", some properties have been sold for in excess of $AUD2 million, when the 2005 median price for a house in Frankston was only $228,000.
Situated on Nepean Highway it has easy access to the nearby Frankston Central Business District 1km to the north. It is also easily reached by bus (numbers 781, 784 and 785) from Frankston Railway Station.
Its borders are undefined, but real estate agents refer to any house along the Nepean Highway strip as Olivers Hill, from Frankston Waterfront in the North, as far South as Humphries Road, at the border of Mount Eliza. Not all properties on Olivers Hill have a view of any kind.
The best views from Olivers Hill overlook Frankston Beach, Frankston Pier, Frankston Waterfront, the mouth of Kananook Creek and, in the distance across the bay, the city of Melbourne's CBD skyline.
Sweetwater Creek also enters the bay at the foot of Olivers Hill.
It is proposed that the long anticipated Frankston Marina and safe boat harbour be built here, at the foot of Olivers Hill. Boat ramp and trailer parking facilities currently exist on the foreshore. The southern end of Frankston Beach also reaches Olivers Hill.
