Olive Township is a civil township of Ottawa County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,691 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.2 square miles (93.8 km²), of which, 36.2 square miles (93.8 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.06%) is water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 4,691 people, 1,370 households, and 1,137 families residing in the township. The population density was 129.6 per square mile (50.0/km²). There were 1,414 housing units at an average density of 39.1/sq mi (15.1/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 89.34% White, 2.26% African American, 0.62% Native American, 1.11% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 5.41% from other races, and 1.24% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 13.52% of the population.
There were 1,370 households out of which 49.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.3% were married couples living together, 7.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.0% were non-families. 13.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.20 and the average family size was 3.47.
In the township the population was spread out with 33.2% under the age of 18, 10.9% from 18 to 24, 34.1% from 25 to 44, 16.5% from 45 to 64, and 5.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 29 years. For every 100 females there were 119.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 117.1 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $48,526, and the median income for a family was $53,102. Males had a median income of $39,056 versus $25,958 for females. The per capita income for the township was $17,023. About 5.3% of families and 7.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 8.0% of those under age 18 and 14.3% of those age 65 or over.
