Oleksiy Pecherov (born December 8, 1985 in Donetsk, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union) is a Ukrainian basketball player. He stands at 7'0". The NBA's Washington Wizards drafted him with the 18th pick in the 2006 NBA Draft; Pecherov signed a contract with the Wizards on July 5, 2007. Oleksiy has previously played with Paris Basket Racing internationally.
Oleksiy's major strength is his shooting stroke — he is an offensive threat both in the low post and out near the 3-point line. He has also shown tenacity for rebounding the basketball [1]. In the 2007 NBA Summer League, he averaged 15.2 points and 8.75 rebounds for the Wizards.[2]
