Dolgopolov Jr made his ATP debut in September 2006 at the Romanian Open in Bucharest as a qulifier, losing in the firsts round to Christophe Rochus.He was also part of the Ukrainian Davis Cupteam in the tie against Great Britain, where he was defetated by Andy Murray
