[edit] Attention tag
Please expand this or merege it with Scouting in North Carolina. Rlevse 21:23, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- After merging the camps and the lodge with the ONSC article, I think it's large enough to have its own just like Tidewater Council. I'll try to expand it with history and such when I get the time. --TinMan 01:20, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- Not for the attention tag. If you want to further improve the article, let me know and I'll offer suggestions if you desire.Rlevse 09:59, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Old Camp Uwharrie
I would really like to see some information on the 200-acre Old Camp Uwharrie located near Jamestown, NC and Greensboro, NC. Now it is a housing development with the entrance at Akela Trail and Guilford College Road. I can't find much information on it but I seem to recall it being the oldest scout camp in the country until it closed around 1993. I think the times I was there I was still only a Cub Scout. This may not be the best article to put it but I think it should be discussed somewhere. Fsamuels 20:12, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, that would be a great addition, but I do not know enough about it, only rumors and stories. I've found very few links on the subject since it was decommissioned prior to the internet age. Here's a few though: Old Hickory Club (small mention), High Point (location of Uwharrie), (SR-7B history (one fact), Small reference to waterfront director at uwharrie (very small), A forum (very helpful- gives camp song). Besides these, I've come up with nothing. --TinMan 04:22, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
