Talk:Old Four
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have studied the history of the University of Toronto for several years and I have never come across the term "Old Four" in any context. Is there a quote that uses this term which could help solidify this article? Lostphd 14:22, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
Same, I have never heard of any sort of "old four". I have heard of Canadian Ivy www.canadianivy.ca, an organization established to promote the prestige of canadian universities but this includes UT, Queens, and UBC. Well, I found something which helps. On February 14, 1985, the York University newspaper "Excalibur" printed an article about a proposal by Queen's, Western, McGill and U of T to leave the OUAA and create a "Big Four" conference. Apparently the idea was first put forward in 1976. Now, all we need is someone to find out how big four became old four. Lostphd 18:16, 20 March 2006 (UTC) ce c
