[edit] Number 21275 appears not unique
The current lead sentence "Old Field Point Light is listed as number 21275 in USCG light lists." when combined with the information that the light is located in New York State might lead to http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/pubs/LightLists/V1COMPLETE.pdf (where Old Field Point light is listed) or it might inadvertantly lead a reader to http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/pubs/LightLists/V7COMPLETE.pdf which is a Great Lakes list that includes portions of New York State (St. Lawrence, Lake Ontario, Lake Erie) and it lists 21275 as a nun buoy on Lake Michigan as:
- Lake Michigan Rowley Bay 21275 - Buoy 2 Marks west side off Barkers Reef. Red nun.
Hence I do not think that the lead sentence is as helpful as it could be in identifying this lighthouse. Perhaps the lead sentence could instead be written to read as follows:
Old Field Point Light is a lighthouse within the village of Old Field, New York between the entrances to Port Jefferson Harbor and Stony Brook Harbor on the north shore of Long Island.[1]
Within a few days time I will alter the lead to that unless someone objects to doing so here on this talk page. Thanks for considering this rewrite proposal. 67.86.73.252 (talk) 13:00, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
