Olds is a small town in central Alberta, Canada. It is located 61 km (38 mi) south of Red Deer, the nearest large community, along Highway 2A and the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks. Olds is rapidly expanding, with a Wal-mart having just arrived, as well as an expanded College and High School on the current Olds College campus.
Olds is 90 kilometres (56 mi) north from Calgary. Olds College is noted for its Agricultural Programs, as well as its Fashion Marketing Studies.[2]

The region in which Olds is located has the best soil quality for farming on. In 2006, Olds had a population of 7,248 living in 3,190 dwellings, a 9.7% increase from 2001. The town has a land area of 11.05 km² (4.3 sq mi) and a population density of 656.1/km² (1,699.3/sq mi).[1]
