Old guard

Old Guard is a term which may describe:
- in sociological terms, the antebellum and Reconstruction Era Southern Aristocracy, especially in major cities like Charleston, SC.
- in colloquial terms, a veteran or group of veterans; a conservative faction; an aged segment.
- in politics
- a United States Old Right group of libertarian, free-market anti-interventionists.
- an Australian right wing organisation of the 1920s and 1930s, the Old Guard (Australia)
- in military circles
- the Old Guard, units of the French Imperial Guard, notably the fiercest and bravest soldiers under Napoleon.
- Old Guards is the collective term describing distinguished military units serving as personal guards of the Emperor of Russia.
- members of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, the main body of troops protecting Washington, D.C., and well known for guarding the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington.
