Unfortunately for students enrolled in the Old Orchard Beach education system, budget cuts made by the state and the town council are threatening consolidation of the Old Orchard Beach High School with Saco and other towns. If the consolidation were to occur, many jobs would be lost, as well as the educational benefits of a small town schooling. Without consolidation, the budget cuts will reduce the school's ability to receive the means to appropriately educate the students.
