[edit] Plot

The poor girl, who has been educated by local nuns in a Catholic church, is very street wise and a rebel, and she teaches her rich friend how to do such things as stealing and surviving on the streets. The rich girl, meanwhile, teaches her friend what living like a rich person is like, and the fact that they live so differently brings them closer to each other.

The situation becomes complicated when Boyd's character falls in love with her friend's brother (played by Barry). They share a few kisses during the course of the movie. Soon, a sensual new neighbor (played by Hart) moves into the apartment complex, and Barry's character falls in love with her. Harvest's character goes to check out the new neighbor's apartment, and finds a set of handyman's tools. Convinced it is her father, not her brother, who is having an affair with the newcomer, she summons her best friend's help to try to find out for sure if her father is having an affair with the woman. Boyd's character then discovers it is her best friend's brother and not her father who is dating the new, mysterious girl. Broken hearted but unwilling to give up their friendship, she lets her best friend know what she found out.

Then, they have an argument and stop talking to each other for a short period, but at the end, they decide their friendship is too important for them to stop being friends forever.
