Old 99 Highway is a 22.7 mile long 2 lane county road in Siskiyou County, California that was once US 99 before Interstate 5 was built in the 1960s. Today, the road exists in the same form as it did when it was US 99, but is lightly traveled. It roughly parallels I-5, but at one point diverges from it by a distance of several miles.
It is remarkable because it is the only contiguous stretch of US 99 that still exists in the county. Locals still refer to it as "99".
Old 99 Highway serves the tiny village of Gazelle, as well as local homes and ranches.
