Oldřich Marek ( 1911 -1986 ) was a Czech entomologist and teacher, member of Czechoslovak entomological society in Prague since 1940.

Oldřich Marek was born on April 3. 1911 in Ústí nad Orlicí. Primary school attended in Dolní Čermná and followed on with a high school on gymnasium in Česká Třebová. After leaving examination he left to Slovakia to teach on primary school in Smolník, Stakčín and Trnava.

In 1938, after breaking-down of Czechoslovakia, all Czechs employed on Slovakia were forced to move back to Czechia. In the time of WW II. (1938 – 1945) he was employed as teacher in willages Slatina u Moravské Třebové, Litice nad Orlicí and Dolní Čermná, and in the year 1941 he passed examination of competence for teaching mathematics, physics, chemistry and natural science at secondary school. After discharging of military duty in 1945 he worked as teacher on secondary school in Žamberk till his retirement in the year 1971.

He specialised in Coleoptera especially the family Nitidulidae. In this group he studied the world fauna describing many new genera and species.
