Oldřich Daněk

Oldřich Daněk (January 16, 1927 - September 3, 2000) was a Czech dramatist, writer, director and screenwriter.

After graduating from the High School in Ostrava, he studied on the DAMU. Still during its study, after 1945, he played on the Divadlo Petra Bezruce in Ostrava. After the study he became a director of the Klicperovo divadlo in Hradec Králové . Since 1954 he was artistic director/conductor of the theatre F. X. Šaldy in Liberec . 1957 began co-operation with the Filmstudios Barrandov , first as a film script author, later than director. Since 1973 it began to write full-time.

His dramas have the moral to the main topic, the author always are on the side of the classical moral principles. Beside evening-filling features it turned also TV serials. For broadcast he wrote some radio plays.
