Olav Meisdalshagen

Olav Meisdalshagen (born 17 March 1903 in Nord-Aurdal, died 21 November 1959) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party.

He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Oppland in 1937, and was re-elected on four occasions. He had previously served as a deputy representative during the term 1934–1936. Halfway through his fifth term he died and was replaced by Per Mellesmo.

He was the Minister of Finance from December 1947 to 1951 during the second cabinet Gerhardsen and Minister of Agriculture from 1955 to May 1956 during the third cabinet Gerhardsen. During these periods he was replaced in the Norwegian Parliament by Gunnar Kalrasten, Thorvald Ulsnæs and Per Mellesmo.

On the local level he was a member of Nord-Aurdal municipality council from 1931 to 1940. He chaired local party chapters from 1927 to 1940. During the German occupation of Norway he was a member of Milorg.

He graduated with a cand.jur. degree in 1932.
