Man, what a cool story. Imagine if it was featured? On the main page, even? I'd love to see that. Everyking 04:05, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC)

- I think there is, actually. It seems to have been quite notable in its time; someone willing to do some research could probably write quite a bit. Everyking 12:47, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC)

- I didn't say I was going to do it. I just said it would be cool. Based on the cursory research I did to find those two dates, it looks like there's a reasonable amount of info available just on the net. Everyking 18:39, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC)

- And what's with you pouring cold water on my enthusiasm, anyway? If someone was to try to build this up to featured status, how could that be anything but good? Ol' Rip is famous; apparently they have local celebrations to mark his anniversary and he's something of a tourist attraction. While alive, he was a celebrity and even met the president. - Well, damn it, if the legendary Ol' Rip can't get you worked up, I don't think anything can. Everyking 21:05, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Any thoughts on moving this to the present redirect title Ol' Rip? Everyking 04:28, 24 Feb 2005 (UTC)
