A WikiOkie is a mythical Wikipedian creature characterized by a desire to write articles in a direct, concise, and straightforward manner, possibly, but not necessarily, because of a secret inability to grasp complex ideas. Although based on the mythical "Okie" creature,[1] having the qualities of a WikiOkie has nothing at all to do with living in Oklahoma.[2] Any editor, regardless of geographic location, can be a WikiOkie. - ^ "WikiOkies" are loosely based on a false dust-bowl era stereotype believed today only by ignorant people. Modern Oklahomans are sophisticated, educated, and resourceful, while Oklahoma itself is one of the most culturally diverse states in the United States with large cities, abundant mountains and forests, many large lakes, and diverse grasslands.
- ^ Okie: Term denoting a resident or native of Oklahoma.
- ^ Most of these people aren't actually from Oklahoma. In fact, people from Oklahoma are actually smarter than the rest of the world, and therefore don't need to rely on violence.
