Okanagan—Coquihalla is a federal electoral district in the province of British Columbia, Canada, that has been represented in the Canadian House of Commons since 1997.

This electoral district includes the towns of Penticton, Merritt, Summerland, Logan Lake, Westbank and Peachland. It is a mainly rural area with many orchards and vineyards.

This riding was created in 1996 from parts of Fraser Valley East and Okanagan—Similkameen—Merritt ridings.

In 2003, it was amended with small parts added from Kamloops, Thompson and Highland Valleys and Kelowna ridings.

This riding has elected the following Members of Parliament:

• 1997-2000: Jim Hart - Reform (1997-2000), Canadian Alliance (2000) - He previously represented Okanagan—Similkameen—Merritt.
• 2000-present: Stockwell Day - Canadian Alliance (2000-2003), Conservative (2003-present)

In 2000, Jim Hart resigned to allow new Canadian Alliance leader Stockwell Day to enter the House of Commons.

[edit] Current Member of Parliament

Its Member of Parliament, Stockwell Day, served as a Progressive Conservative cabinet minister in Alberta and as leader of the Canadian Alliance party, elected in the riding in 2000. He represents the Conservative Party of Canada, which was created through a merger between the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada and the Canadian Alliance. Day is widely seen as a social conservative. He is currently Canada's Minister of Public Safety in the cabinet of Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
