Oj Hrvatska mati
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Oj Hrvatska mati" (lit. "Oh Croatia Our Mother") is a Croatian patriotic song.
It is often referred to as Zovi, samo zovi (the first line of the chorus), but that is ambiguous with the Serbian patriotic song "Oj, Srbijo mati" from Vojvodina, from which this song derives.[citation needed] Croatian members of the Sokol society from Vojvodina redesigned the song replacing "Serbian" with "Croatian" and the part on Montenegro to make it more native to the Croat people and spread it in Dalmatia, since when it became widespread amongst the Croats as a national song, to the same meaning as to the Serbs.[citation needed]
