Oil drying agent

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An oil drying agent is a chemical compound that speeds up the hardening of drying oils through chemical crosslinking by autoxidation by acting as catalysts.

Oil drying agents contain metal ions, such as cobalt, manganese, or iron, in the form of salts and complexes with lipophilic carboxylic acids such as naphthenic acids to make them oil-soluble.
