[edit] "ass wipe" editor

yippee yehaw okie dokie no more vandalism for me thanks 4.240.36.14 03:55, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

The user has now been blocked and their user talk page protected. You've been doing some good work here: keep this up and you'll be an admin before you know it! -- Francs2000 01:34, 5 November 2005 (UTC)

It took me a while to work it out when I first came here. If you just leave three tildes (~~~) it will leave just your name and nothing else. If you leave four (~~~~) it leaves your name and the date, if you leave five (~~~~~) it leaves just the time and date. If you didn't leave any and yet it still appeared, I don't know what you did mate! -- Francs2000 01:43, 5 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Reverted edits by Francs2000 to last version by Ohnoitsjamie

Short answer: no. It's a facility that comes with gaining admin status because templates don't work in edit summaries. See Wikipedia:Rollback for more information. -- Francs2000 02:11, 5 November 2005 (UTC)

  • looks at clock* You know, we've been reverting this person's advertisements for over 30 minutes? This is a LITTLE ridiculous. =) -- I know how you feel about the barnstar... those grapes you see on my talk page... they really mean a lot to me.

[edit] Natalee Holloway

I wish I didn't know so much about this case. I do feel like I have an obligation to protect the article from bias (and worse). Thanks for your help and support. Dystopos 01:32, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] AFDs

Don't forget this tag on the AFD subpages: {{subst:afd2 | pg=PageName | text=Reason why the page should be deleted}} ~~~~. It's what makes the headers on the log page. --Etacar11 21:56, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

  • I always keep a window open to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion when I'm nominating one (otherwise it's easy to forget a step). Just follow the three highlighted steps at the bottom of the page and everything should be good.  :) --Etacar11 22:03, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for reverting the vandalism to my talk page! I've put the idiot's witty and intelligent comment back, coz I like to keep these attacks... I get a sort of strange amusement from them! ➨ REDVERS 10:26, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] 199.111.230.195

Hey Jamie! Thanks for the prompt answer! I really appreciate it =) I actually had no idea my IP is shared (since I have never seen any edits not done by me in my contribution page) – guess I have to crank up my computer science knowledge!

Anyway, is it okay and appropriate to remove the "Attention" notice (or simply everything, now that I don't care) from the page? It kind of makes me look like a vandaliser… 199.111.230.195 22:24, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

  • well, this is my own computer in the dorm room. I've never let anyone touched it. That is why I seemed surprise :-0 Anyway, I've removed the tag myself already. I'll definitely create an account someday. I'm just at this "watch & learn" stage 'cause I want to make sure I'd be a good editor if I joined. Thank you so much for the nice messages (I've learned that not everybody knows how to communicate) and have a nice day! 199.111.230.195 03:38, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] User:81.105.181.61

Sorry to bug you, but I'm hoping you're an admin and able to carry out the {{test4}} threat you put on his page — since he's at it again, this time on Caesar Augustus. These threats have no teeth if we don't carry thru! (Obviously, if I were an admin, I'd do it myself....) Best, Bill 13:25, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] reverts on pit bull pages

Hey there, I don't mean to annoy you by re-reverting the "smilin' pit bull rescue" link on the Pit Bull article. I just don't think that it's aproporiate. So, while it does provide good info, other links provide the same info, it's just redundant. We should let the article provide the info and cite sources to back it up. Besides, the external links for that article is getting really large, and that sort of thing doesn't fit in with WP:NOT and the External Links policies.

The external links policy there should be some pro/con viewpoints in external links, else I'd think more should be deleted.

[edit] Mass of Lightning

Nice hoax-spotting on Mass of Lightning! Would you care to have a look at Crispin Wallace-Ingersoll? -- JimR 05:20, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Crispin Wallace-Ingersoll

Thanks for the Crispin Wallace discovery: I've commented on the talk page. Thanks also for the reference to Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius: how far-sighted in 1940! Bearing in mind that articles on WP are copied to other encyclopedias then spread across Google, the imaginary can indeed become apparently real! -- JimR 10:49, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Michael Haddad

I don't think there's too much of a problem here, it's obvious to the casual observer that the only legitimate votes are to keep the article and all the noise is coming from a small minority of users. It's a common occurrence, trust me! -- Francs2000 14:33, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

No problem, it'll all die down eventually and be replaced by a new set of people who don't understand the rules of inclusion and notability etc etc ad infinitum! -- Francs2000 14:08, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
