[edit] WALL-E Builders
Please read the following articles/policies to help you understand how Wikipedia works. The Five Pillars of Wikipedia, verifiability, asserting notability, supplying reliable sources and in case you are writing about your own company/product (if that is the case), read COI and BFAQ. Also, when you add comments to a Talk page always start a new section at the bottom and don't forget to sign by adding four tildes ~~~~. -- Alexf42 02:08, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
5 April 2008 So if I founded a group that shows up at charitable events and provides free public relations for a company like the 501st and the R2 Builders does for ILM and George Lucas I can create a page about my group as long as it is factual and does not conflict with anyone else.
I just thought that the page I created did just that and I provided links to the pages where the information can be verified.
Dates and times can be confirmed on each page of the R2 Builders that I linked in my artical.
How would I at least add my link to the WALL-E page under external links?OhioAstromech (talk) 02:47, 6 April 2008 (UTC)OhioAstromech
- No. It is not "as long as it is factual and does not conflict with anyone else". Please read the pages provided. It has to assert notability and it has to be properly sourced and whatever facts you mention have to be verifiable. It cannot be original research. Also, I'm not sure I understand what you mean about linking to it. Please read about external links. -- Alexf42 03:00, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
When I refered to a post or a group I used a tagged external link such as R2 Builders Group I tried to link to posts within the R2 Builders Group that show the date, time, and information are correct. I just noticed that if you are not a member of the R2 Builders Group you cannot see the information. I am sorry about this and I did not know that you could not go to the information I was pointing to.
Can I post a link to the WALL-E Builders on the WALL-E Wikipedia page under external links?OhioAstromech (talk) 03:30, 6 April 2008 (UTC)5 April 2008 OhioAstromech I was trying to create a Wikipedia page about the WALL-E builders group since it is new and I felt that if would be of interest.
- That's not the proper question (the answer would be yes). The question is, can you assert notability under the policies and rules? "I felt that if would be of interest" is not good enough. Good luck. -- Alexf42 03:53, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your help. I will try to recreate the WALL-E Builders Wikipedia page and work within the rules. I didn't know that this could be so difficult but I understand that Wikipedia cannot stand on just links and blurbs of information.OhioAstromech (talk) 04:14, 6 April 2008 (UTC)6 April 2008 OhioAstromech
