[edit] Procedure
[edit] Finding selected article candidates
Look for an article on the English Wikipedia that is related to Ohio that you think is very good and would be suitable for use as the selected article. This article doesn't necessarily need to be a Wikipedia Featured Article or a Wikipedia Good Article, but these articles are generally preferred for use as the selected article (you can use those links to look them up). For arguments that can be used to suggest nominations, you could be inspired by the Featured Article criteria.
[edit] Nominating articles
- Click on the "Edit"-button for the "Current nominations" section.
- At the top of this page (above the other candidates) create a third-level header with the articles title and a wikilink to it, like this: === [[ARTICLE NAME]] ===
- Below this new line, add your reasons for nominating the article and then sign your nomination with ~~~~.
- Add the template {{OhioSAN}} to the nominated article's talk page
[edit] Supporting and objecting
- If you approve of an article, write "Support" below the reason why this article was nominated, followed by your reasons for supporting it.
- A nomination is considered a vote in support, so nominators don't need to add another vote to their nominations.
- If you oppose a nomination, write "Oppose" below the list of supports, followed by the reasons for your objection. Where possible, objections should provide a specific rationale that can be addressed.
- To withdraw an objection, strike it out (with <s>...</s>) rather than removing it.

- Here's wording:
Nine Inch Nails is an industrial rock band, founded in 1988 by Trent Reznor in Cleveland, Ohio. As its main producer, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, Reznor is the only official member of Nine Inch Nails and remains solely responsible for its musical direction. NIN's music straddles a wide range of genres, while retaining a characteristically intense sound using electronic instruments and processing. After recording a new album, Reznor usually assembles a live band to perform with him; this live component is a separate entity from Nine Inch Nails in the recording studio. On stage, NIN often employs spectacular visual elements to accompany its performances, which frequently culminate with the band destroying musical instruments. Underground music audiences warmly received Nine Inch Nails in its early years. The band produced several highly influential records in the 1990s that achieved widespread popularity: many Nine Inch Nails songs became radio hits, two NIN recordings won Grammy Awards, and the band has sold over 20 million albums worldwide, with 10.5 million sales certified in the United States alone. In 2004, Rolling Stone placed Nine Inch Nails at 94 on their list of the 100 greatest music artists of all time. (more...)

Here's wording:
Ohio Wesleyan University is a private liberal arts college in Delaware, Ohio. It was founded in 1842 by Methodist leaders and Central Ohio residents as a non-sectarian institution, and is a member of the Ohio Five — a consortium of leading Ohio liberal arts colleges. Wesleyan has always admitted students irrespective of religion or race, gender and sexual orientation and maintained that the university "is forever to be conducted on the most liberal principles." In this capacity, Wesleyan has espoused internationalism and social activism. The 200-acre site is 20 miles (45 km) north of Columbus, Ohio. It includes the main academic and residential campus, the Perkins Observatory, and the Kraus Wilderness Preserve. In 2005, Wesleyan had the ninth highest percentage of international students among liberal arts colleges for the twelfth straight year. U.S. News & World Report ranked Wesleyan 95th among U.S. liberal arts colleges in its 2007 edition. Notable alumni include former U.S. Vice President Charles W. Fairbanks and Nobel Laureate Frank Sherwood Rowland. (more...)
