Ohio State Route 762

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

State Route 762 is an east-west state route that runs from US 62 and SR 3 in Harrisburg to US 23 north of South Bloomfield, at its intersection with Duvall Road. It only intersects with one other state route, SR 104, about 2 miles west of US 23. At its western terminus with US 62 and SR 3, it crosses Little Darby Creek, a large watershed and protected stream. State Route 762 used to enter the east side of Harrisburg (Home of sprint car driver Sarah Fisher) before it was bypassed. Traveling east, it enters the small village of Orient, which houses the Orient State Development Center, a large correctional institution. It continues on through mostly farmland, then enters into Commercial Point, a small community of about 825 people. It makes a sharp turn east in town, and exits town going east. About 2 miles east it intersects SR 104, which is currently being upgraded with left and right turn lanes. Another mile east, it crosses the Scioto River, and ends at US 23 about 3/4 mile east. The entire route is approximately 11 miles long.
