State Route 338 is a state highway in the southeastern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. The remaining active north-south segment is a remnant of a longer east-west route, with its western (southern) terminus at U.S. Route 33 approximately 10 miles east of Racine, and its eastern (northern) terminus at State Route 124 approximately 8½ miles east of Racine. This remnant is known internally as SR 338J^[1], and much of the old route was replaced by State Route 124 in 2003 following the opening of the U.S. Route 33 super two highway to Ravenswood Bridge across the Ohio River.

1933 – Original route certified; originally routed from Letart Falls (about 6 miles south of Racine) to 10 miles east of Letart Falls^[2].
1934 – Extended to Racine along a previously unnumbered road from Letart Falls to Antiquity, and along the former State Route 337 from Antiquity to Racine^[2].
1938 – Extended to 8½ miles east of Racine along the previous and current alignment of State Route 124^[2].
1941 – Swapped alignments with State Route 124 from 6¾ to 8½ miles east of Racine; State Route 338 was given the southern alignment along the Ohio River^[2].

2003 – Truncated at the new alignment of U.S. Route 33 approximately 10 miles east of Racine; the former alignment of State Route 338 from Racine south along the river and back up north to 6¼ miles east of Racine designated as State Route 124; from 6¾ east of Racine to U.S. Route 33 decertified^[3].
