State Route 207 is a north-south state highway in the central portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its southern terminus is at State Route 104 approximately 5 miles north of Chillicothe, and its northern terminus is at the northern alignment of the U.S. Route 62/State Route 3 concurrency in Mount Sterling, where the route runs concurrently with the southern alignment of the U.S. Route 62/State Route 3 concurrency for about ¼ mile, and then briefly with State Route 56 to the terminus; State Route 56 continues west.

[edit] History

  • 1962 – Original route certified; routed along the alignment of the former State Route 277 (from the southern terminus to 1 mile north of Atlanta was unnumbered before 1931; from 1 mile north of Atlanta to Mount Sterling was unnumbered before 1938)[2].

[edit] Before 1938

  • Routed from 3 miles west of Hanover to about 11 miles east of Martinsburg; entire route certified as State Route 668 in 1938[2].

[edit] Future

As of late 2006, State Route 207 is being extended eastward in Ross County toward U.S. Route 23 at a new interchange. This will ease traffic flow on State Route 104. This project was completed in December 2006[3].
