The owners and higher staff that operate this convention are trying to hide the truth about it and "sugercoat" their image with shoddy details and promises. [edit] The Curse of Ohayocon/recent edits

www.ohayocon.com was recently offlined as part of a DMCA C&D notice. I think that the scrutiny may merit note as independent research that is relevant to the event itself, if not the controversy in numerous recent edits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.203.80.125 (talk) 20:19, August 17, 2006 (UTC)

That looks more like a hack of their webserver then a legitimate DMCA notice by their webhost. The reasons I think its a server hack is because no infringed material was identified in the notice, no person or law firm was identified as being responsible for the notice, and the only contact address give was to an anonymous GMail account. But either way, it's still not a verifiable source of a curse. --TheFarix (Talk) 20:43, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Recent Vandalism

I'm a staff member of Ohayocon, and I have a good idea of who's behind the recent vandalism of the page. That is, our former webmaster who has also taken our old dot com domain for himself. I really can't understand why he's decided to take such a juvenile approach to the whole situation. [edit] Edits to years and locations

I removed the attendance figures because they were listed as "approx". Posting estimated information deters from factual accounting, and posting an estimated attendance for 2007 just doesn't belong. I also removed the 2007 entry as it's not a historical fact at this time. I will re-add the information after the 2007 event has completed.

Someone official with this group should do recounts of their attendance, or at least more research as to what official statistics were when they were released, so more accurate numbers and not approximations can be posted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.185.35.65 (talk) 12:44, November 15, 2006 (UTC)

• If they're verified, please let us know where the information originates from. It cannot and should not only be posted here as per WP:OR. Ideally, it should be posted on the Ohayocon web site and AnimeCons.com so that the attendance figures could reference that. Until then, it falls under WP:OR, is not "verified", and does not belong. --PatrickD 19:19, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
