“ | There he was, wearing Armani on a Sunday: Mr. Big. I'll admit it was a bit of a shock [to see him going to church]. Up until that moment I thought he only believed in the Yankees. | ” |
The religion of three of the women's lovers comes into play in this episode. Carrie discovers Mr. Big going to church on Sundays. Miranda dates a playwright with a strong case of catholic guilt, and Samantha falls in love with a perfect man, but he doesn't measure up to her requirements. Charlotte gets psychic readers to see if she'll ever marry.
At the end of the episode, Carrie breaks up with Big, after asking him to tell her she was the one and he can't. Interestingly enough, these are the exact words that he tells her in the series finale.
