...-styled robbery (Russian: Ограбление по…, translit. Ograblenie po...) is a 1978 Soviet animated film by Yefim Gamburg. Film was split into 4 sections, named American-styled robbery, French-styled robbery, Italian-styled robbery and, finally, the Russian-styled robbery. Each one is a pun on a detective films of 1960-70th of the corresponding countries - USA, France, Italy and USSR. The animated characters are parodying popular actors of that era - Louis de Funès, Sophia Loren, Saveli Kramarov, etc.
In the first part Sheriff was drawn from Marlon Brando, in the second the older robber from Jean Gabin, the older robber masked as sanitary technician from Fernandel, the younger robber from Alain Delon, the bar mistress from Brigitte Bardo, the drunk man in the bar from Louis de Funès, in the third part Mario Brindizzi from Marcelo Mastroianni and his wife Lucia from Sophia Loren, and in the final part the second robber from Saveli Kramarov and the militiaman from Mikhail Zharov.
The last part was censored and not released on TV because Saveli Kramarov emigrated to USA by that time and thus his film image was banned. The full version was rereleased only in 1988.
The openning frames became a pun on a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer logo, where an MGM lion threw out by a Cheburashka and replacing himself on its place.
