Oghab 2 is an Iranian counter-espionage agency set up in December 2005 and aiming at protecting its nuclear programme against external operations. Its creation would have been decided after the arrestation of two foreign agents collecting information about two previously unknown nuclear plants in Parchin and Lavizan.
[edit] Internal organisation
At first directed by General Reza Gholam Mohrabi, the agency is now led since mid-April 2007 by Ahmad Wahidi, an important character in the Revolutionary Guards. He is seconded by general Akbar Dianatr Far, who had previously worked in the Pasdarans' intelligence service, and general Ali Naghdi, a former police intelligence aide.
The number of members is, for the moment, unsure but could be around 10,000 men.
