Offering

Offering can mean any of the following:
- An offering is a collection of donations during worship. See also alms, tithe, charity, gift and virtue.
- An offering can mean a religious sacrifice of plant, animal or human life (blood sacrifice), or a sacrifice of precious items. An offering may also be a monetary donation, or may be of a purely spiritual nature (rational sacrifice), offering one's heart or life to God. (see also Oblation).
- An offering in Buddhism is often part of devotional practice.
- A securities offering is a discrete round of investment, usually regulated in the United States by the Securities Act of 1933. See also seed round and Initial public offering.
