Of the Opera is an indie electronic/acoustic/indie pop project from Chicago, Illinois. Of the Opera is signed to Lucid Records out of Deerfield, Illinois.
Of the Opera is a solo project by Robert Bock, who performs using his computer, his guitars, and other live instruments. Bock started his musical career with Monday's Hero (2002-2005) and played with The Firebird Band (2005-2006). In 2006, he left his position as a guitarist/keyboardist/back-up vocalist in The Firebird Band to make his project "Of the Opera" full time.
Study Natural Law, the first album, was recorded by Gordon Persha, with artwork by Eric Mortensen. Bock writes and plays everything on this album from his first release (except live bass on one of the songs).
Following the release of Study Natural Law they have played at high profile venues such as The Metro (Chicago) and the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in (Austin, Texas).
