[edit] History
OTN1 was licensed as Odyssey on September 4, 1996 by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) as a regional ethnic specialty channel for the province of Ontario. On June 6, 1997 before the channel launched, the CRTC amended its licence to allow it to be distributed nationally. In December 1998 Odyssey Television was launched on Star Choice and Rogers Cable.
In November 2001, Odyssey II was launched, with Odyssey and Odyssey II being abbreviated as OTN1 and OTN2 (now ERT World).
