[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Norfolk Scope.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Norfolk Scope.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. ccwaters 03:02, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edit summaries

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

[edit] Norfolk Scope image

I'm sorry, you'll have to remind me. I deleted a whole ton of images yesterday and have no specific knowledge of the one you're referring to. Most likely, if you think you had a source but I still deleted it, someone else probably thought your source wasn't specific enough -- make sure you either have a link to the image URL or the page that contained the image (preferably both). You are of course free to upload it again. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 15:48, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

OK, I see what's going on. I didn't nominate this image for deletion. In fact, I had done you a favor by supplying a fair use rationale when one was lacking. If you wish to contest the deletion, please do so at WP:IFD. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 15:55, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
That was me. See criteria #1 atWP:FUC. Basically: its not fair use if someone can easily drive over there and take a freely licensed alternative. ccwaters 21:32, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New Arenas

I notice you have added a lot of new arenas in the United States arena page. What websites do you use to find arenas that are under construction? Thanks!Patken4 21:32, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

I go to www.arenadigest.com, and I usually confirm the new arenas by doing a Google search. Odulumni99

[edit] links

for the family guy articles, please make sure when you make links from characters names that they go to the desired page, as the ones you made had no articles created for them Grande13 01:46, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Coliseum_image.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Coliseum_image.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] License tagging for Image:Virginia Beach.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Virginia Beach.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:12, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Virginia Beach.jpg source?

Did you take this picture or do you know where it came from. Otherwise, it will probably be deleted from wiki. Images have to have a source and copyright information to be on the wiki. --Kolrobie 22:37, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikimania in Atlanta!

Hi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!

P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 09:25, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed deletion

[edit] Sally-Ann Roberts

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Sally-Ann Roberts, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Sally-Ann Roberts. [edit] john davis

I've been tidying and adding to the dab page at John Davis. Searching led me to your new page at John Davis and the Monster Orchestra, which is mostly about the man JD. I've added a link, rather clumsily, on the dab page under "arts and media" and I won't be surprised if someone removes it. It might be better if you renamed the page as John Davis (arranger) or something? Then it would sit more happily in that dab page. I've just made a redirect from Monster Orchestra, but that could point to a page for JD. PamD (talk) 11:55, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
