[edit] Not a museum at all
"Odessa Numismatics Museum" is not a museum at all. I went to the Grechiskaya location and realized very quickly that this was a commerical shop claiming to be a museum. The "musuem" consists of a tiny walkway and two counters full of coins:
Look at these two photos and see for yourself, this is a picture of the entire Grechiskaya location:

[edit] Stop adding the Odessa Numismatics Museum to the Odessa page
Please stop adding the Odessa Numismatics Museum to the Odessa page. Several users have deleted this entry, repeated times. No other museum is listed in the "external links section" and as I mentioned above, the Odessa Numismatics Museum should probably not even be called a museum, and is probably the most non-notable "museum" in Odessa. [edit] The Odessa Numismatics Museum is very important scientific and cultural organization of Odessa
It became one of many visiting cards of our city. Owing to this Museum many thousand tourists from different countries of the World visited our city annually. In the beginning of XIX century in Odessa there’re the first Russian scientists of numismatists. Today their traditions are continued by Museum’s researchers. Interest to history of Ukraine and its spiritual heritage grows all over the World from year to year. That’s why the Odessa Numismatics Museum is very popular among foreign tourists and visitors of Odessa city.

[edit] The collection of the Odessa Numismatics Museum represents all periods of the history of coinage and money circulation that have taken place on the territory of modern Ukraine
This collection is very spacious and includes many unique and rare ancient coins. Certainly it’s one of the best collection of ancient and modern coins and banknotes of Ukraine. Museum’s research practice continues almost bicentennial traditions of renowned Odessa researchers-numismatists and contributes its share to the scientific investigation of the Northern Black Sea Coast history. That’s why Odessa Numismtics Museum became the scientific centre widely known all over the World.

[edit] Failed Good Article nomination
As this article has no references section providing citations to reliable, published sources that verify its factual accuracy, it quick-fails the Good Article nominations process. For more on what constitutes GA-class work, please read the Good Article criteria. The large number of external links in the body of the article also gives this article a distinctly advert-like feel when reading. Please remember that external links should really only be present in a separate section from the article's encyclopedic content. If you feel this decision is in error, you may seek a reassessment. Thank you for your work so far, VanTucky Talk 19:10, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Suggestions for improving the article are considered and executed
Section "References" is added. All external links in the body of the article are removed. They are presented in separate section "External links". I nominate this article for good article nominee repeatedly.
[edit] Failed GA again
When you come to renominate, please follow the instructions at WP:GAN; nominate in one category only, and place your nomination at the bottom of that category, not the top.
- It is reasonably well written.
- a (prose): b (MoS):
- It is factually accurate and verifiable.
- a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
- It is broad in its coverage.
- It follows the neutral point of view policy.
- It is stable.
- It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
- a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
- Overall:
Although references have been added, they really need to be cited in-line, per WP:CITE. I would suggest you look through the various sections of WP:MOS too. There are various problems in this article, including WP:DASH. Forcing the TOC where it is doesn't look right at all. There are various spelling mistakes throughout the article. I would suggest a copyedit from someone who speaks English as a native language too. Contractions like "there're" are unusual, for example, and frowned upon in a Wikipedia article. You should check your apostrophe usage too (eg "Odessa'" and "1970'").
Galleries are also, generally, frowned upon, hence the fail on 6b.
All in all, it seems there is potential here, but at present it doesn't meet the GA criteria – it may be worthwhile familiarising yourself with those too, before renominating. Carre 16:10, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] All suggestions are considered and remarks corrected
1. The grammar of article is checked up and corrected, the prose is cleared.
2. Sections "Bibliography" and "References" are issued according to criteria.
3. Unnecessary details are removed.
4. All illustrations of article are the property of resource “Odessa Numismatics Museum”.
5. All corrections in article are made by the official administrator of Museum’s site - Vlad Fedchenko.
We ask again to nominate our article as good article nominee.

It is not well written (translated?).It is not neutral...mainly worked on by editors connected with the Museum... it reads like advertising/marketing and needs secondary scources.Teapotgeorge (talk) 21:29, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Quick-failed GA nomination
Any article that has cleanup banners such as those at the top of the article automatically fails any GA nomination per the the quick-fail criteria, and does not merit an in-depth review. Please remedy any such banners and remove them before renominating the article. Conducting a thorough rereading of the quick-fail and GA criteria would also be advisable. Thank you for your work so far. If you feel the result of this review was in error, you may request a reassessment. VanTucky talk 00:18, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] References
I have re-added the templates
Peter G. Loboda is the Founder and Director of the Odessa Numismatics Museum and not a good secondary scource for references! Teapotgeorge (talk) 11:18, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
