Odette Mascarenhas is a writer from Goa, India, who has authored two books, Alfie Alphonso, a kind of Goan version of the Harry Potter story and Masci: The Man Behind the Legend, the biography of a humble Goan who went on to become the first Indian Executive Chef of the Taj Group of Hotels whose culinary skills were appreciated by Maharajahs and more.
By 2008, the sequel Alfie Alphonso -- The Blot on the Canvas was also released. The story deals with environmental issues in the small region of Goa, on the Indian west coast, faces, thus making it more relevant for tweens.
She started her career with the Taj Group of Hotels as the Regional Training Manager for the Western Region. Her specialized field is Behavioral Analysis. She holds a Degree from the CHE, USA. After 17 years of serving with the Taj, she decided it was time to carry on her mission to impart social messages the youth of Goa and thus Alfie Alphonso was born.
