[edit] Gaming

The gaming floor is approximately 50,000 square feet (5,000 m²) and offers 1500 slot machines in addition to 36 table games. 100 plasma screen displays are scattered throughout the casino. The displays are designed to show promotions, live contests, and DirecTV satellite broadcasts. A poker room with 6 tables is also available. All slot machines at the casino are Ticket-In, Ticket-Out (TITO) system. The TITO system means that coins will not be redeemed, but a paper slip with credits can be used to redeem credits.[1] Odawa Casino Resort is now open 24 hours a day.[2]

[edit] Entertainment

Ovation Hall is the concert venue located at Odawa Casino Resort. The hall can seat up to 1,000 people and will host concerts and trade shows. Bill Cosby performed two shows at the grand opening celebration. Eric Heatherly, Air Supply, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and The Commodores have all played shows in the Ovation Hall.

The O zone nightclub is a circular nightclub with flair bartending. The club features a large display built in to the ceiling that can play live video from the club. There are several “party pods” around the club that are separated by curtains. Inside the pods, guests have two private plasma screens and a fireplace. Party pods are free, but require a minimum balance that varies depending on the weekday.[3]

[edit] Hotel

Odawa Hotel is a recent American Automobile Association three Diamond recipient hotel. There are 137 total rooms (10 Suites and 127 standard guest rooms). Amenities include a fitness room, an indoor pool, wi-fi internet access, in-room movies, and a cocktail lounge. Free shuttle service is available from Odawa Hotel to Odawa Casino Resort.[4]

[edit] Region

Odawa Casino Resort plays a major role in the Petoskey area in terms of income and influence. The Odawa Casino Resort employs roughly 1000 people and is now the 2nd largest employer in the area[5] The opening of the casino signaled the hiring of nearly 500 people, helping to reverse a trend of unemployment that is higher than the national average[6].

[edit] Future expansion

Plans are in place to expand the Odawa Casino Resort, yet a firm date has not been set. Possible additions may include a new hotel which would be integrated into the Casino property[7].
