[edit] Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) will produce your name and the current date. You should always sign talk pages, but not articles. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Ann Heneghan (talk) 18:18, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Translation Request

Hello Octahedron80, I´ve found this list about Thai players who participated at the 1972 AFC Asian Cup. Could you help me by translating this names into English? Thank you very much. --Al1976 11:18, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

  • ดุสิต ไชยจงมี = Dusit Chaichongmi
  • ประเสริฐ กฤษณะมิตร = Prasoet Kritsanamit
  • ศุภชัย พิรัฐโยธิน = Suphachai Phiratyothin
  • สมาน ธูปประสาท = Saman Thupprasat
  • สิน ทับมณี = Sin Thapmani
  • สุรศักดิ์ ตัณฑดิลก = Surasak Tanthadilok
  • อาจิณต์ พฤกษธรรมโกวิท = Achin Phrueksathammakowit

However, this is standard transcription (not called translation) by Royal Institute. Their names may be spelled in different alphabets depended on their own selves.--Octra Bond 15:13, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rocket Festival

Thanks for the conversion chart in Thai Solar Calendar. Now, please check out Rocket Festival and its talk page to see if you can help with that. Does พญาแถน mean King of the Sky for sure, and do you have English-language reference for Nang Ai and Pha Dang? Lee 15:45, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry. I don't know clearly about the tale details because I was not born in the Northeastern of Thailand (Isan).--Octra Bond 17:46, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please help-Lao language request

Hello! The Wikipedia:Graphic Lab is working on artwork related to Laos, and we need some help to get the proper Lao language text into the artwork. As Thai and Lao are closely-related languages, I ask you to please visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Graphic_Lab/Images_to_improve#Scouting_in_Laos and see if you can help! Thanking you in advance, Chris 05:47, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Answered. --Octra Bond 08:16, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you so much! How would you spell it out in Latin characters, and pronounce it? Is it "Be Prepared", "Always Prepared", or does it come out as something different? I want to add it also to Scouting in Laos. Thanks again! Chris 08:26, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
"Triam Phrom" /tliaːm˨ pʰlɔːm˦˩/ (Laotian reads their "r" as "l") = "Prepared", it refers to "Be Prepared". --Octra Bond 00:44, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks again, that's great! Chris 01:17, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Girl Guides Association of Thailand

Hello, friend! Can you put the Thai language name of The Girl Guides Association of Thailand into the article? Thanks! Chris 06:59, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

It is "สมาคมผู้บำเพ็ญประโยชน์แห่งประเทศไทย ในพระบรมราชินูปถัมภ์" (GGAT). The assoc has already changed their logo to this. [1]. Earlier, "น.น." as shown in Eng article stood for "เนตรนารี" (lady's eyes = girl scout). Now, "บ.พ." as my link stands for the assoc name.--Octra Bond 07:17, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thai Name

Hello can you give me the transcription of อภิภู สุนทรพนาเวศ . Thanks for helping. 89.59.6.60 22:16, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

"Aphiphu Sunthonphanawet" --Octra Bond 02:49, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Request for edit summary

It would be nice if you could use the edit summary more often. To see how you're doing, you can check Special:Contributions/Octahedron80. Cheers, Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 15:11, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

... even for minor edits. :) Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 05:06, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

The edition I mostly do is to add inter links from Thai Wikipedia. What should I type in the box such as "+th"? I want to keep it short because there are bulks of article to link so I usually skip.--Octra Bond 05:26, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Right, "+th" would be great. It really helps having even a short edit summary. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 17:07, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
More practice needed. :) If you recategorize, you can say "recat". Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 15:03, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Broken refs

Hi, I saw you removing this reference from The Legend of Zelda (series) because it was broken. It typically best not to do this, as the reference needs to be fixed—not removed. By removing it, you also remove any indication that a broken ref needs to be fixed. In many cases, you only need to look at a few past revisions to find the cause (in this case, two revisions before yours), and if you don't want to take the time to fix it yourself, you can simply leave it for others to fix, or notify interested parties on the talk page. Thanks, Pagrashtak 15:25, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Okay. I will be more careful next time. --Octra Bond (talk) 16:33, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
