I've removed the following statement from the article, "Octyl Methoxycinnamate is one of the chemicals suspected to increase risk of oral cancer in frequent lip balm users. It is thought that it can cause cells to become cancerous through the same function that causes it to kill skin cells." I tried to find a journal reference that supports this, but could not.
