Octoraro Railroad
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Octoraro Railroad was formed in the 1980s and took over a portion of the former Pennsylvania Railroad branch line that ran from Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania to Sylmar, Maryland.
At Chadds Ford, connection was made with a former Reading Co. branch, the Wilmington and Northern.
The Octoraro Railroad ceased operations on June 30, 1994.
The Morristown and Erie Railway reportedly provided freight service from July 1, 2003 to November 18, 2004. Documents from the Association of American Railroads still list the railroad as owning track as of December 31, 2004. The railroad may now be operated as a subsidiary or the East Penn Railway.
