Octadecene

Octadecene is a relatively expensive solvent, with a high boiling point above 250 °C. It is a long-chain hydrocarbon and an alkene with the molecular formula C₁₈H₃₆. It is compatible with oleic acid.

This chemical is used in creating quantum dots, but it can possibly be replaced by Dowtherm A or Therminol 66 in this process.
