Octadecene

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Octadecene is a relatively expensive solvent, with a high boiling point above 250 °C. It is a long-chain hydrocarbon and an alkene with the molecular formula C18H36. It is compatible with oleic acid.

This chemical is used in creating quantum dots, but it can possibly be replaced by Dowtherm A or Therminol 66 in this process.
