Ocotepeque

Ocotepeque is a town and municipality in the Honduran department of Ocotepeque. Located 15 miles from the Honduran- El Salvadoran border as well as the Honduran- Guatemalan border, Ocotepeque is on the first municipalities encountered when traveling between the countries. An area of interest near the town is the Parque Nacional Trifinio which is a nature preserve shared between Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador. Also the city of Esquipulas, Guatemala is near to Ocotepeque and is home to what many consider to be the most sacred shrine in Central America. Ocotepeque is also the home of Chicano
