Ochre is the stage name of English electronic musician Chris Leary. The name "Ochre" was originally adopted as the title for Leary's academic work while studying audio production at Newcastle College. It refers to the colour ochre, and is also a variation of "Oaker", the name of a street in Manchester where Leary spent his early childhood.[1] Leary also holds a Master's degree in music. His compositions are characterized by complex, lyrical melodies, and a clean production style.
