[edit] 1994 qualifying?
The article states "Australia beat Canada, then lost to Argentina in the Intercontinental Play-offs" for the 1994 qualifying. Surely Canada have always been in the CONCACAF group? So were there two inter-continental play-offs? Just doesn't seem to make sense the way it reads at the moment. If anyone knows and can clarify for me if I'm misunderstanding and / or change it in the artcile that would be great. Iancaddy 00:36, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yep, there were two. Australia beat Canada and then lost to Argentina. --Robdurbar 07:36, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] New Zealand switching to CONMEBOL
Now that Australia is part of Asia (as for football); how big is the rumor that New Zealand plans to join CONMEBOL? If this happens, would the Oceania federation cease to exist? El Chompiras 20:03, 28 June 2006 (Central time)
- Well, there are still relatively strong teams(for their size) in Oceania. (Tahiti, Solomon Islands, Vanatu for example). I doubt NZ would leave, as they now pretty much have a guarenteed chance at .5 spot. This is just my speculation but the smaller countries are probably glad because this gives them a slim opportunity to make it to the world cup. Falphin 22:52, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
