Ocean View High School is located in Huntington Beach, California. OVHS was established in 1976 and christened the Seahawks. Currently, there are approximately 2,000 enrolled students.

Several items that highlight OVHS are:
- The Business Academy, a program seeking to develop premier business-minded students to be proficient in tasks such as Microsoft Office, Computer skills, and Social Networking
- The Student Library, a resource on campus which provides an excellent location for students to do research, complete assignments, and seek general assistance for critical self-help needs
- The IB Program, a rigorous two year academic program which provides students with the opportunity to challenge and demand further research and international opportunities
- Community Service programs catering to the needs of the students and school on a semester-system
- Clubs involving activities ranging from involvement with Community Service to critical thinking in Games, Probability, and Logic

[edit] International Baccalaureate Magnet School
OVHS is in the International Baccalaureate or IB program. An IB program consists of three main programs: the IB Primary Years Program (PYP), which is for students ages 3 to 12, the IB Middle Years Program (MYP), ages 11 to 16, and the IB Diploma Program (DP), ages 16 to 19.
The International Baccalaureate program begins in the eleventh grade and ends with graduation from OVHS. The program provides an intellectually rigorous and academically demanding curriculum for students in schools around the world. IB emphasizes critical thinking and research skills as part of the learning process. Students take classes in English, science, mathematics, social studies, and foreign language. In addition, a 4,000 word extended essay, a Theory of Knowledge class, and 150 hours of community service are required for the full diploma which is awarded from the IB office in Geneva, Switzerland. OVHS is one of only nine public high schools in Orange County to offer the IB diploma.

OVHS is currently number 640 on the list of Top 1,000 High Schools in the United States, [1] published by Newsweek Magazine. The public schools are ranked by the number of Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate test taken by all students in 2004 divided by the number of graduating seniors.

Ocean View's sports teams are members of the Golden West League in CIF Southern Section. The sports offered at OVHS are: baseball, cross-country, track & field, golf, swimming, basketball, wrestling, volleyball, football, soccer, tennis, water polo, and softball. The athletic director at OVHS is Tim Mennealy.
- Ocean View High School won its first boy's CIF Championship in 1992 - Soccer CIF Division IV-A - Coaches Paul Kollar, Jim "Puck" Barrot, and Andy Austwick. Defeating Damien 3-2.
- Ocean View's football team made the postseason in 2007, for the first time since 2001. The program entered 2007 with an all-time record of 77-191-3, the lowest winning percentage in county history.
- Ocean View won the CIF Division IV baseball title in 1998 at Dodger Stadium and theCIF Division III baseball title in 2005 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim
- OVHS has had a history of success in boy's basketball. The boy's team has been led by Coach Jim Harris to several league championships as well as a Division III-AA title in 1998.
