Ocean View Amusement Park

Ocean View Amusement Park was located at the end of Granby Street at Ocean View Avenue in Norfolk, Virginia. Ocean View Beach Park now exists on the former site. The amusement park was featured in the 1977 movie Rollercoaster. The wooden coaster depicted in the movie was called "The Rocket". The last day the park was open to the public was during the filming of Rollercoaster. The wooden coaster was destroyed as part of the making of The Death of Ocean View Park in 1979.

Ocean View Amusement Park had five coasters, including "The Rocket" and "Figure Eight". The history of the park is featured at the Ocean View Station Museum in Norfolk Virginia. www.ovsm.org .
