Ocean State Job Lot, headquartered in North Kingstown, RI, is a chain of approximately 85 discount stores operating in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Upstate New York.
The chain primarily acquires common brand-name goods whose manufacturer is willing to sell them at a loss following overstocking or discontinuation serving as a close-out company similar to Big Lots and Christmas Tree Shops. Ocean State Job Lot also has many new items (not close-out/overstocked products) that they use to fill their shelves, that they stock on a regular basis.
Ocean State Job Lot prefers to lease buildings where previous supermarket or discount stores used to be.
